Please note that, in the current circumstances where Covid-19 remains a risk, your contact details may be shared with official Government of Ireland contact tracing parties who may, in the event of a confirmed Covid case being identified at our site, need to make contact with all persons potentially in close contact with the infected individual during their period here. Your data will not be retained for this purpose for longer than 21 days following your visit.

Kilmainham Gaol is partially open to visitors with access to the ground floor of the Gaol and the prison yards.

Tickets must be booked online. Walk-in tickets will not be available until further notice.

Please only arrive 15 minutes before your allocated tour time. There is no access to the building before this time.

Children under 12 are free of charge but still require a ticket for the guided tour.

In accordance with the OPW Child Safeguarding Statement, all children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Heritage Cardholders must also book in advance and show a valid Heritage Card on arrival.

Wheelchair users, visitors with additional needs and carers should not book tickets online. Please contact us in advance to arrange your visit: kilmainhamgaol@opw.ie.

A maximum of 6 tickets may be purchased online. Tickets can be purchased 28 days in advance.

Unfortunately, we are unable to facilitate large school or group bookings at this time.
